A US Copy Editor's Perspective: A Tip About the Move Function within MSWord's Track Changes Program


FYI: When you cut and paste within MSWord's track changes program, you get green text with a double underline beneath for the moved portion.

Sometimes.

The trick is whether you are moving a whole sentence or not. If it is a complete sentence, then you get the "move" marking delineated above.

But if you just take a phrase here and a phrase there, you don't see green. You'll see the standard red. Or at least that is what is happening to me within my 2010 MSWord edition.
